One of the things that I’ve been watching lately with the Presidential candidates is all talk about health care. As someone without health insurance, the idea of having a universal health care system is appealing. My question is, however, how will it differ from our current Medicaid program. Will it differ?
Will this system be available for those who truly need it? And what will it do to the current health care systems? Will it screw the elderly and what’s left of Medicare? Can they benefit those who aren’t eligible for Medicaid because of money? Will it benefit someone like me? I have no insurance, but am not eligible for Medicaid because Rob makes too much.
Can anyone give us a health care system that will help everyone? We’ll have to wait and see.
Have you ever sat down to dinner only to have the phone ring? Yeah, we’ve all had those calls. Some company or another calling to try to sell you something. Well, one of the best things that ever came about was the Do Not Call registry. You can register your phone number and these companies aren’t supposed to bug you. Right?
Well, they can no longer try to sell you something, but that doesn’t stop the calls. Calls that are classified as market research calls are still legal. I kid you not. I have told these callers not to call. I have told them I’m in the registry and I get told flat out that they are still allowed to call. I hang up on them and they call back.
Seriously, what the hell do you do with these callers? I swear I’m going to start blocking the numbers. That is when they don’t use a private number. Assholes.
