Where anything can grow with just a bit of nurturing

Archives for the day Monday, October 6th, 2008

Ingredients
* 3/4 c. butter
* 1 c. brown sugar
* 1 egg
* 1/2 c. applesauce
* 2 1/4 c. flour
* 1/2 tsp. soda
* 1/2 tsp. salt
* 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
* 1/4 tsp. cloves
* 1 c. raisins
* 1/2 c. nuts

Directions

1. Mix together shortening and brown sugar and egg.
2. Stir in applesauce.
3. Sift together flour, soda, salt, spices and stir in raisins and nuts.
4. Drop by teaspoon onto cookie sheet.
5. Cook at 350 about 12 minutes.
6. Makes ~3 dozen.

Notes: I left out the clove, raisin and dates and they still turned out fantastic. They didn’t spread much when they baked, so be aware of that when you drop them on the pan.
