Okay, I’m not a big tech head, really. I’m an end user more than anything. So what on God’s green earth am I doing with Windows 7 Beta? I’m doing just what I wanted to do – I’m trying Windows 7 for myself before the complainers can ruin it for me like was done with Vista.
So far, I like Windows 7. The key things that I have found that I like:
- Less CPU Usage
- Easier to personalize
- More clean looking
Things I don’t like:
- The lack of ability to change the taskbar much
- The fact that some things that normally drop into the ‘notification area’ (systray) stay in your task bar
- Items in the quick launch expand into full tabs when opened.
These are just a few things from a couple hours of usage in a Virtual Machine setting. I would complain about the lack of Aero in VM but that’s –my- problem, not Windows.
