Do all speakers for graduation ceremonies use the same lines? It sure as hell seems like they do. It seems like you hear the same thing over and over again. It reminded me of being in high school, in a way, at my own graduation. Listening to the principal giving a long winded speech about how wonderful the students all were, when you know as well as you know your own name that he was glad to be rid of them. Listening to classmates talk about how long ago it was and the times when they needed to find an acne treatment so they could clear up their zits and get the girl/boy that they liked.
It also reminded me of a song that was popular for graduations a few years ago – Vitamin C’s – Friends Forever
I will say that this graduation was nothing like my high school graduation was, that’s for sure. It was memorable, for more reason than just my nephew graduating.
