Web Hosting Help From Web Hosting Geeks

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

Anyone who owns a domain of any sort needs to have some sort of hosting, right? Sometimes, domains come with webhosting, but not very often, so that means that you have to figure out which service is going to be the best for your needs. For instance, if you are going to host a business, then you need to have a host that works for business. You can’t run a business without a shopping cart, which are usually only part of business hosts.

Think carefully, before purchasing any sort of hosting because there are some out there that aren’t worth hosting with. Make sure to read all the reviews before giving any money to any host. Let Web Hosting Geeks help you find the host that suits you best. If you plan to have multiple domains, then you need to have a host that allows for multiple domain hosting and enough space to do so. Websites can be small or large, depending on what you plan on hosting on your site. For instance, if you’re hosting just a plain website, it won’t take more than a few megabytes of space, but if you want to host a blog or full service domain, you’ll need a lot more space. If you are hosting within a budget, then you’ll have to figure out just what it is.

Best Web Host Reviews

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

Anyone who wants to have a blog or a website of any sort should consider hosting it themselves with their own domain. But in order to do that, you have to have a web host unless you have your own server. The question is, however, which one is the best? It’s pretty hard to determine, but if you read the reviews from people who use the hosts, it’s easier.

What’s even better is not having to search for the reviews and having a site like Web Host Rating that gives you all the information about price, space, user reviews about multiple sites so that people can get the best deal for their needs. You can’t dive on the first deal you see because you can get burnt so easily. What looks good on the outside, may not be so good when you open up the package.

Web Service Reviews: Izea

Saturday, July 5th, 2008

I have been working for Izea for about a year now and think that more people need to know about their social media services. Some of you have seen me write about Social Spark and PayPerPost on different occasions, but it’s been a while, so I’m going to do it again.

PayPerPost is the first of Izea’s undertakings. They pay bloggers to write reviews, create buzz and generally advertise different products for advertisers who want to get their name known on the Internet. PayPerPost is a more conservative blogger network with a stricter set of acceptance rules, but if you have a lot of original content and at least a minimal amount of traffic, you should be able to write posts. How does it work? Once you sign up, you enter your blog information and wait for it to be accepted for their marketplace. Once you’re approved, you can explore the marketplace and pick from the different advertisers and write your posts by their guidelines and submit it to the system. PayPerPost and the advertiser will then review your post and either accept or decline it. If it’s accepted, then you will get paid 30 days from the date that it was posted. If it is declined, you will be able to fix whatever caused the declined and resubmit it. You get paid via PayPal, so you will have to have an account there as well as at PayPerPost.

Now, on to Social Spark. They are much the same as PayPerPost, but with looser standards. As long as you have a blog, you can add it to their system and take opportunities through their network. What makes Social Spark different, other than their looser blog standards, is that they have 3 different types of opportunities in their marketplace. They have the paid blog posts like PayPerPost, but with different advertisers. They also have what is known as blog sponsorships. You allow an advertiser to place an ad and a banner bar on your website that is seen when your site is viewed, and for each day the advertisement is on your site, you get paid. You can stop a sponsorship at any time you wish, so you aren’t locked in and you can only have one sponsorship at a time. And their 3rd type of opportunity is Sparks. These are not paid opportunities, but they can drive more traffic to your site. You take a buzz opportunity and write about another site, then they write one about your site, pushing their traffic your way.

What makes Izea great? They make blogging profitable without being obnoxious about the advertising. You can choose how you want to monetize your blog, you choose when you want to monetize your blog, all they do is provide the means for you to monetize your blog. So give Izea a look and see what you think.
